READ our Return/Exchange Policy!
Nobody
likes returns. Not the consumer. Not the merchant... but as consumers
ourselves, we understand that circumstances may arise where you
need to return an item for credit or exchange. The following
guidelines will help you understand what is expected of you,
should a return/exchange be necessary.
1. Keep all packaging. Even seemingly unimportant
bags or cardboard fillers are important when it comes to a return.
2. Don't be a "bull in a china
shop". If you have a box with staples (such as do many
telescopes)... carefully remove the staples with a pliers. Don't
tear open the cartons.
3. If an item you purchased requires part
of the packaging or warranty card to be sent in for a rebate
offer, wait until you are sure the item is working properly and
that you are satisfied with it's performance. Then, cut out the
UPC bar code or whatever the rebate calls for. The same applies
for warranty cards- don't fill them out until you are
sure the item is being kept.
4. While you aren't required to call Shutan
for authorization before sending/bringing an item back, you may
still want to call. We may be able to help you solve the "problem"
over the telephone. (You can also email us at: info@shutan.com)
5. We are a fair and reputable dealer and
will treat you fairly. Please do not use us as a loaner program!
Gathered from past experiences, below is
a partial list of items that have caused a restocking
charge to be levied. This list is not all inclusive. It is provided
to you in an effort to help you avoid restocking
charges:
- Torn cartons
- Items mailed back with address label directly
on product box instead of packing in a protective outer box
- Missing and/or filled-out warranty cards
- Missing parts
- Pet hair clinging to every nook and cranny
of the product
- Software that has been opened
- Bottoms of telescopes/cameras scratched
from attempted mounting on tripods
- Smoke! The bags smell. The equipment smells.
The boxes smell.
- Sand or liquid damage; "I was very
careful at the beach" NOT!
Due to many manufacturers having large
customer service departments, many prefer that questions regarding
repairs/initial defects be directed to them rather than the dealer.
Below is a partial list of manufacturers phone numbers. You may
want to call them first and then us should you still feel there
is a concern.

Returns/Exchanges must be made within
10 days of purchase date (14 days for mail-order)
ALL merchandise, boxes, packing, instruction
books, and blank non-registered warranty cards must be in original,
new saleable condition, subject to our inspection. Any product
not returned/exchanged within these guidelines will be subject
to a restocking and handling charge of at least 10 percent.
All shipping and handling charges incurred
are the responsibility of the purchaser. Shipping and handling
charges are NOT refundable.
Warranties are VOID in cases where product
has been abused or mishandled, or where unauthorized repairs
have been attempted or performed. Shutan specifically disclaims
special, indirect, or consequential damages or lost profit which
may result from a breach of manufacturers warranty.
